Professional Photography For Weddings - 6 Tips To Hiring A Great Photographer

When you open a phone book or look online, you will be bombarded by an assortment of ads for professional photography for weddings. This can make it difficult for the soon-to-be bride and groom.

However, it really doesn’t have to be as difficult as you might think. Here are a few great tips to help you make sure you are hiring the best professional wedding photographer to capture your memories for you.

1. Talking to friends, family members and coworkers is a great place to start. Find out what their experience was with a particular photographer. Word of mouth can be the best advertisement for a photographer, as well as their worst! Ask questions such as:

a. Was the photographer professional looking and acting while at their function?

b. Did the photographer capture all of the must have photos perfectly?

c. How comfortable was the person with the photographer?

d. Price wise and performance wise, would they hire this photographer for another event?

2. Utilize the internet. Research the particular professional photography for weddings photographer that you are considering. Here is what you should look for:

3. Any complaints about the professionalism, quality of photos and overall performance of the photographer. Complaints on the Better Business Bureau’s website. Look and see how the complaint was handled and what the complaint was about.

4. Avoid looking for honest feedback on the official website of the photographer. More than likely, you will only find feedback that supports the actual professional photography for weddings. It is rare that you will read anything that is not positive on a particular website. The website is monitored and typically will not post anything that can hurt their business.

5. Ask to see a portfolio of photos that were taken by the actual photographer that will be taking pictures at your wedding. Often, when a photography company has employees, they only show the portfolio of the best photographer and not the portfolio of the photographer that will be photographing your wedding day.

6. Be specific with your contract. If you want a specific photographer that specializes in professional photography for weddings, make sure the first and last name of that individual is written on your contract. If you have any special requests or a particular style of photography, make sure it is in writing on the contract.
